This section is where you can post topics related to Challenges from other websites, such as Formula-BOINC, SETI-Germany and BOINCstats, as well as project challenges such as from WCG, PrimeGrid et al.
As a Team, we really want to engage as many team members with these challenges, as this gives us a great way of attracting more members to our Team...plus we get to show our strengths as a Team by (hopefully) doing well in each one.
Hi all, I am Buro87 from Boinc Italy.
I am here to invite you to Kill the Cancer Challenge 2020
issued by our team on the occasion of World Cancer Day (February 4th)
START: February 1st 2020 00:00 UTC
END: February 7th 2020 24:00 UTC
PROJECT: Mapping Cancer Markers
I am sure that those of our members who support WCG, will be interested in taking part in this Challenge.
I have entered UBT as a team for this Challenge so if any members want to join in, all they need do is to crunch the Mapping Cancer Markers sub-project, between 1st and 7th February (inclusive).
I run WCG anyway, it's been one of my favourites for years. So I'll just set my preferences to the sub project specified.
Although I will lose a bit of time, as we're on holiday until 2nd Feb and my PC will be shut down while we're away.
I'm running a couple of PCs on WCG Kill Cancer, and I'll put others over for the Challenge.
All my GPUs will still do the Primegrid Tour de Primes, (I'm Mega hunting) and then I'll switch cores to TdP ( also Mega hunting) for the rest of February after the WCG 7-day Challenge has completed.

I've just pinged out this message to the 103 members of our Team (who allow emails from the team captain) on WCG project, in the hope that I can convince some of these members to take part in this Challenge:
Hi
Hope you are well.
Just to let you know that UBT will be participating in a specific WCG Challenge from 1st-7th February, and in particular, we will be crunching tasks from the Mapping Cancer Markers sub-project.
So, if your PC is not doing much and you want to take part, please adjust your WCG Preferences (on their website) to only download tasks from this sub-project and your PC will then join the many other PCs that forum members have already volunteered for this Challenge.
And with luck, we can make a difference with our combined processing power.
regards
Tim

I wonder if anyone will switch projects and join in ?
