Re: Kill The Cancer Challenge 2020
Hi Buro
Welcome to the UBT forum.
Thanks for the invitation.
I am sure that those of our members who support WCG, will be interested in taking part in this Challenge.
I have entered UBT as a team for this Challenge so if any members want to join in, all they need do is to crunch the Mapping Cancer Markers sub-project, between 1st and 7th February (inclusive).
Good luck everyone
regards
Tim

Hi Buro,
I've not crunched WCG for a while, but do like the project and this focus looks good to me. I may well lean in when the time comes.
Thanks for the invite.

Re: Kill The Cancer Challenge 2020
I run WCG anyway, it's been one of my favourites for years. So I'll just set my preferences to the sub project specified.
Although I will lose a bit of time, as we're on holiday until 2nd Feb and my PC will be shut down while we're away.

HI
I'm running a couple of PCs on WCG Kill Cancer, and I'll put others over for the Challenge.
All my GPUs will still do the Primegrid Tour de Primes, (I'm Mega hunting) and then I'll switch cores to TdP ( also Mega hunting) for the rest of February after the WCG 7-day Challenge has completed.

Good stuff, sounds like we might have a good run at this one. I'll certainly jump in.

Hi all
I've just pinged out this message to the 103 members of our Team (who allow emails from the team captain) on WCG project, in the hope that I can convince some of these members to take part in this Challenge:

I wonder if anyone will switch projects and join in ?Hi
Hope you are well.
Just to let you know that UBT will be participating in a specific WCG Challenge from 1st-7th February, and in particular, we will be crunching tasks from the Mapping Cancer Markers sub-project.
So, if your PC is not doing much and you want to take part, please adjust your WCG Preferences (on their website) to only download tasks from this sub-project and your PC will then join the many other PCs that forum members have already volunteered for this Challenge.
And with luck, we can make a difference with our combined processing power.

Re: Kill The Cancer Challenge 2020 (o/p)
I have just changed my project prefs for WCG to only leave MCM for the duration of this challenge. Let's see how well we can do as a team!
The impossible we do today; miracles take a little longer

Great - welcome aboard!
We have a live challenge thread over in the private section, so see you there as we get in to this Challenge.
