More info on the Square Kilometre Array can be found at http://www.skatelescope.org/ and the European (including UK) design study at http://www.skads-eu.org
There is a good paper on SETI & the SKA at
http://www.skatelescope.org/PDF/science ... Tarter.pdf
One thing to note is that the involvement is from the SETI Institute http://www.seti.org who are not the same as the SETI@HOME people. The SETI Institute are also busy building a new array right now, the Allen Telescope Array, supported by Paul Allen of Microsoft fame.
I guess there is plenty of Universe out there to go around!
