This section is where you can post topics related to Challenges from other websites, such as Formula-BOINC, SETI-Germany and BOINCstats, as well as project challenges such as from WCG, PrimeGrid et al.
As a Team, we really want to engage as many team members with these challenges, as this gives us a great way of attracting more members to our Team...plus we get to show our strengths as a Team by (hopefully) doing well in each one.
SETI.Germany invites all BOINC teams to the SETI@Home Wow!-Event 2016. It takes place from 15th August, 16.00 UTC, until 29th August 2016, 16.00 UTC.
We cordially ask all team leaders to forward the invitation to their team. Information about the Wow! Race 2016, an exciting race concept and a registration form can be found here: http://www.seti-germany.de/Wow/anmeldung.php?&lang=en
SETI.Germany wishes you and your team members much fun with the Wow! Event 2016.
I really hope some of the team can switch projects and support the WOW 2016 event.
This is an event that allows people to join one of 12 teams (named after zodiacal names) and as such it's not really about specific BOINC teams but being about joining others (from all over the world) so as to make your chosen team beat the other 11
FWIW, I've joined the Cancer team, if only because I was born under the sign of Cancer (and yes, you've all missed my birthday party this year !!) plus I was diagnosed with cancer about 6 years ago (but I've had treatment and thus far I am now "clear").
Just under 6 days to go until the end of the SETI WOW event.
Thus far only myself has generated any credits towards this and I (representing UBT of course !!) am in 44th place out of 109. TSBT are in 58th place and they too have one lone cruncher who has joined in.
So, if anyone has some spare CPU or GPU crunching capacity, head over to the link in the top posting and register - and we might just get in the Top 40 !!
Err. wow? I came 664th out of 742. My excuse was that I didn't join in til it was nearly over. Mind you I came 2nd in UK BOINC team so that's not so bad.
Try reading this... OK there was only the 2 of us who could be bothered - still a silver medal though!
