England World Cup Squad Selected
GOALKEEPERS
Robinson (Tottenham), James (Manchester City), Green (Norwich)
DEFENDERS
G Neville (Manchester United), Ferdinand (Manchester United), Terry (Chelsea), Cole (Arsenal), Campbell (Arsenal), Carragher (Liverpool), Bridge (Chelsea)
MIDFIELDERS
Beckham (Real Madrid), Carrick (Tottenham), Lampard (Chelsea), Gerrard (Liverpool), Hargreaves (Bayern Munich), Jenas (Tottenham), Downing (Middlesbrough), J Cole (Chelsea), Lennon (Tottenham)
FORWARDS
Rooney (Manchester United), Owen (Newcastle), Crouch (Liverpool), Walcott (Arsenal)
STANDBY
Carson (Liverpool), Young (Charlton), Reo-Coker (West Ham), Defoe (Tottenham), Johnson (Crystal Palace)
A good team, but why only 4 forwards, 2 of whom are injured.

1 good keeper, good defence, reasonable midfield, hopeless attack
we haven't got a chance with that team

Most of the team "picked itself"...!
Silly questions for you humans:
1) Why did David James get picked? Talk about a waste of time. He can't even collect the ball from the back of the net.
2) Why didn't Shaun Wright-Philips get picked. The lad's done well.
3) And as for the unfit players:
Ledley King (shame)
Michael Owen (big doubts)
Wayne Rooney (double whammy)
Ashley Cole (only just back)
Result:
England through to 2nd round and get knocked out by the surprise qualifiers from Group A "Costa Rica"...
'Course, if England go through to Rnd 2 as Runners' Up, they'll probably be playing Germany.....who will doubtless thrash you....
As for me - I'll be watching the Universe Cup - Cybermen against the Daleks.

Good point. And why pick Crouch who could'nt score in a brothel Peter Crouch Stats . At least most of the midfielders he picked can get goals. The Master wrote: 2) Why didn't Shaun Wright-Philips get picked. The lad's done well.

Money where their mouths aren't.

True but then try buying an English car. My mates got a Rover which is basically a Honda body with Peugeot engine and gearbox.
Even the British car companys that are left are owned by overseas car makers.
