Formula BOINC 2025

This section is where you can post topics related to Challenges from other websites, such as Formula-BOINC, SETI-Germany and BOINCstats, as well as project challenges such as from WCG, PrimeGrid et al.

As a Team, we really want to engage as many team members with these challenges, as this gives us a great way of attracting more members to our Team...plus we get to show our strengths as a Team by (hopefully) doing well in each one.

Formula BOINC 2025

Post by UBT - Timbo »

Hi all

The NEW Formula BOINC season started on 1st January 2025 and since then the various teams and individual members have now been "graded" into various Leagues as seen here:

Teams:

https://www.formula-boinc.org/teams.py? ... nding=team

Members:

https://www.formula-boinc.org/users.py? ... nding=team

The 2025 Sprint schedule has now been fully published and can be seen here:

https://www.formula-boinc.org/sprints.p ... nding=team

The first Sprint starts on 13th March and for each Sprint the chosen project will be announced at the start time specified in the above list.

If anyone wants to take part, just crunch tasks from the selected project during the alloted days and times and your efforts will be taken into account for the Team results. You can also register here:

https://www.formula-boinc.org/howtoregister.py

if you want to take part in the Members League.

We came first in the first sprint, primegrid. Excellent result thanks mainly to Jason and Alho.

We are also currently first in the marathon but I guess we will to promoted to the next division before the end of the year.

Hiya

Yup - UBT did pretty well in teh 1st Sprint, though it is quite possible that this was a fluke as both Jason and Alho might not know anything about the FB Challenges !! And sadly, they have not registered as FB Members (not that this is important as the credits from the entire team all count towards the team total).

Indeed we are !

As for promotion? That depends on how well UBT performs until the promotion/relegation process takes place...last year it was planned to take place at the half-way stage (after 12 Sprints) but I had to postpone this due to external factors.

And this year, it may be that promotions/relegations take place more than once 8) but that depends on whether any specific team(s) are not supporting FB that much and need to be relegated, while at the same time, some teams might be highly pro-active and hence should be promoted into a higher league. :-D

Of course the downside to this is that being in a higher league means team(s) (or member(s)) might have LESS chance of earning FB credits, if they are then competing against better teams/members. :-(

And being relegated might give teams/members MORE chance of earning FB credits if they are then competing against much weaker teams/members.
