Goofy NCI giving out insane credits, probably another database issue. Hope they don't reset it, my total shot up 65 fold

It looks like whatever backup database they use, has been corrupted:

So, this error is down to an issue with the "Monkeys_v1 credit" stats, if one compares the number of tasks for each sub project that JonS has completed, with the credits awarded.

Monkeys_v1 credit - average - 22,338 per task
Monkeys_v2 credit - average - 19.86 per task
Monkeys_v3 credit - average - 21.34 per task
Monkeys_v4 credit - average - 21.54 per task

I checked my own stats and they are quite normal:

Hi Tim,

Not sure why it's occurring but have you ran any Goofy tasks recently? I only have one host affected and it was added to Goofy a couple of weeks back. My hosts that have been there for longer don't seem to have changed their credit totals excessively.

I'm only in the top three because of the mistaken credits I've received. Normally I'm 5th in the team I think. However, you do seem to be onto something with the recently added hosts. It is only my most recently added host that has received the erroneous credits.

Hi both

Now that Goofy has some tasks, I've re-allowed work to be downloaded - and thus far only a previously registered host has actually completed an hours worth of crunching - in this case a v1, a v2 and a v3. These are awaiting validation.

I've also added a new host earlier today but that has just 1x v1 task it is working on (at present).

As these tasks all last about an hour, we'll see by this afternoon, what effect the validation process is having on the awarding of credits.

However - if these extra credits are not noticed by anyone, potentially, we can just stay schtum and say nothing

I've had hosts running Goofy continuously for the past few months, it's only the new host that's had the erroneous credit.

I also added a couple of new hosts in the past few days (Raspberry Pis) no sudden increase from them. It may be a specific time window.

All my tasks at the moment are going straight to pending, some have been there for over twelve hours now.

So, we must wait...

It seems to be a common thing these days...I've had to wait for Yafu tasks to finish, wait for Goofy to validate, wait to find out FB Sprint project, wait for L'AF forum registration to accept me, wait for everything....and I'm not going to even mention Brexit !!

Is it me, is it my age or is the world just becoming more impatient about things and we all expect things to happen more quickly...maybe tech has got us used to things happening faster so when there's only a slight extra delay, it causes us angst ??

Still, it's POETS day and I know I have a beer at home that needs drinking...

UPDATE:

The single host I added earlier has had it's first (and so far only) task validated now and earned just 44 credits.

(Other older hosts have also seen validated tasks and nothing dramatically different there either).

So, no sudden change in credits for me

Hi all

In case anyone is interested, Goofyxgrid NCI project is no loger being updated daily by BOINCstats.

The project is still listed there as an "active" project, but no daily/weekly updates are being displayed. This is mainly due to whatever issue was the cause of some members stats suddenly increasing by billions of credits...

And although the project has corrected this, the whole issue of the Goofy NCI project being seen as "worthwhile" to do, is now in doubt due to the flakiness of the servers.

I can exclude the project from the combined stats. Can't fix his export.

So, although some stats are being shown, they are not being updated so there will be a difference between what BOINC Manager tells you adn what BOINCstats displays.
