Got my computer back! Looks like a reseat of the SSD has done the trick. They reckoned the BIOS wasn't quite configured correctly but that was probably down to me resetting it to default trying to fix it.
It does mean that I don't have to mess about restoring stuff, which I wasn't looking forward too. I just connected everything back up and it booted up fine first time.....

Good news, probably just the cooling down when it was switched off contracting some contact just enough to upset things and with it not starting up again, it wouldn't get back to it's initial temperature.
Saved you some time and effort in the end.

Yep, back to crunching too. Got Collatz going again, I just need to get the config files sorted again. I had it working before they pulled the plug, so it's just a matter of remembering what I did last time. I've had one attempt that didn't go well, I'll have another look later. But at least I'm earning credits again.

To be fair, the river's been cleaned up these days. Pretty much all the industry, i.e. shipyards, is gone now and the riverside has quite a few apartment developments and such. A much nicer place than it was when I was growing up there. I still visit frequently as I've got family up there, my kids and grand-kids all still live in Shields.

The first one I came to was "Golf" but that had a letter in common, same for "Kilo".
