Change a Letter - 5 letter words

Hi all

Following on from the original 'Change a Letter' thread this is the start of the 'deluxe' version, where the target word will be 5 letters instead of 4. As in the 'standard' version - change 1 letter per post, forming a new word, with the objective of reaching a specified target word. Whoever reaches the target word then specifies the new target.

As this version will likely be harder at times to reach the target there is one additional rule to limit the difficulty - any target word can never contain more than one, if any, of "Z", "X", "Q" or "J".

No worries !! I thought the 4 word letter was a bit too easy, so the 5 letter version might be more "taxing" on the brain cell (singular !!)

Sorry Tim, that'll be me, apologies.

Refreshing the page wouldn't have helped. It happened when I clicked on the notification for Keiths update, took a long time to reply and didn't notice it was the bottom of the page and more posts had been added on the next page.

It's happened before on the old, four letter thread and we just carry on.

OK - No worries. I guess it doesn't help, that sometimes the forum is a bit slow to respond in terms of logging on and loading pages. it's not that it is a big database, but it is held on a different server to the website and hence I guess that once in a while there's too much traffic between the webhosting server and the (shared) database server

Maybe one day, I'll be able to afford to have them on the same IP address which should make it faster.
