Hi all,
If you've not seen it, this makes for an interesting read:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-33596271
As this seem to be including the SETI@home project, I wonder if we will get some new data to crunch from the 2 radio telescopes mentioned: Parkes (Aus) and Green Bank (US):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkes_Observatory
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Bank_Telescope
Both of these have moveable dishes and hence can scan far more of the sky than the fixed 'scope at Arecibo.

Hi all,
There some more details here:
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/21/scien ... share&_r=0
As they say in the article, this could really be the sort of "push" that the SETI search has needed for a long time...

Hi all,
I'll say one thing about this announcement - it seems to have generated a lot of interest, with a knock-on effect that quite a lot of new members have joined our SETI@home team.

A very warm welcome to you all...
