MILESTONE: Now 38th place as we've passed "Russia"

Post by UBT - Timbo »

Hi all,

Only 20,000 credits to go before we pass Russia in the World Rankings.

http://chase.ukboincteam.com/

Might only be a day or so until we're past them.... 8)

Keep on crunching !

regards

Tim

NEXT is a lot harder.
Boinc.be a week ago joined with belgian moOo farm and their RAC is now 120k+
The Final Front Ear would seem the next target, Only 3,000k ahead and 25k? down on RAC, thats a long wait to pass again.
And just behind us some bad news http://boincstats.com/stats/boinc_team_ ... o&id=10682
Is it the start of more solid work?

Hi John,

Well, I did say (a long time ago), that once we were in the Top 40, it'd be much harder to keep passing teams every week...

And as we're now "in" with the "big boys", we're either going to keep moving upwards, or we'll stay at pretty much the same level, from here on in (not withstanding the fact that some other teams will either increase or reduce their RAC over time).

As for who's next?
There's a few candidates:
AMD Users - 200k ahead - but who have a similar RAC as UBT
BOINC.BE - 700k ahead, and similar RAC
Amateur Radio Operators - 2.7 mill ahead - and lower RAC of 90k
The Final Front Ear - 2.9 mill ahead - and even lower RAC of 80k

For my outside bet, I suggest that our best "next" target in the World stats is going to be "BOINC.BE"

And if we can push a bit on WCG (bearing in mind the forthcoming "Crunch"), then this will help anyways.

regards

Tim

Just done some quick calculations and it seems that the next target would be BOINC.BE

At current rates we should pass them in about 7/8 weeks somewhere around the 44/45 million mark. Once we get there it should be fewer weeks to catch the next 4 teams. (Amateur Radio Operators, The Final Front Ear, BOINC@Denmark and SwissTeam.NET)

Then....

Well then it really gets hard! 'PC Perspective Killer Frogs' (Great name) are a further 4 million ahead at the moment, '2CPU.com' another 2 million.

All the above teams have a lower RAC than us but are getable - it's just going to take a bit of time.

However...

There are a couple of teams below us (Einstein@UW-Madison and Team Starfire World BOINC) who are coming up fast.

I think a top 30 ranking is possible by the end of March 2007. Our RAC and team membership is steadily increasing but the 2 teams above may slow us down in getting there.

If you haven't looked here, then be prepared to shed a small tear...

BOINC.BE just put on 175,000+ credits on XtremLab in the last 8 hours....!

Talk about making it tough for us.....probably coz they don't like David Suchet as Poiret....!

Yes I saw that. Came through around 3PM. Having a look at the synergy site here it looks like someone is in the process of changing names (or something weird). There's a team called 'used_to_be_BOINC.BE' so it may just a glitch as they change over. Having an additional credit of that much in Xtremelab, over just 1 hour, takes some doing!

Is it part of Belgian MoOo Farm coming across as part of the amalgamation that took place about a week ago. Boincstats show the farm in 261st place with 4,276,301 credits. See my post on the 16th. The farm has 223,493 credits in XtremLab.

Well that's gonna hurt if they can bring over all 4 million credits. 223,492 isn't too bad (just over 2 days worth). The daily RAC for the moo's is around 5-10 thousand which, when added  to Boinc.be gives them a higher RAC than ours.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens over the next few days.

What will "hurt" most is their increase in RAC...

Not sure how the projects will react to the fact that, in essence, the "MoOo" users will be leaving their old team "Belgian MoOo Farm" and joining "BOINC.BE"

check here: http://www.boincstats.com/search/all_pr ... 03d7679cda

for their stats - seems they only have 223,000 CPDN credits that WILL definitely transfer to the new team.

As for the rest of the credits....?

check here for their first members moving over

Well that made a difference!

At least it slowed down AMD as well!

On the bad side (again) they just brought over another 284,498 credits from HashClash, so they'll get another boost in tomorrow's stats. :(
