I'm back!

Was greeted by a dead PC when I got home. It generally runs 24/7 and is apparently upset with being off for a week and won't boot. On laptop at the moment but will be contacting my PC supplier later today as it's still under warranty.....

Had a chat with the tech guy to check things, it looks like the SSD has gone AWOL. Seems it didn't like being off for a week. Dropped it off this morning, they say 3-5 working days to fix, so no crunching for a while. I've never bothered with BOINC on the laptop, didn't seem worth it as it's not on very much. So it looks like I'll be getting a clean Windows install. I've got all my important stuff backed up but it'll be a bit of a chore reinstalling the rest. It'll stop me getting bored, anyway.....

Right, where were we? And yes, it is just us on here these days. It does seem a bit strange that we're the UK top team but the forum is very quiet....

Probably the easiest way to fix it, just put another SSD and copy of Windows in. Good job you've got everything backed up, most people haven't. It may be a bit of a chore but at least you haven't lost anything.

Only got a couple more trips away this year. A few days up North visiting the grandkids at half term, then a week in Spain after Xmas to celebrate the wife's birthday (Don't let on that I've told you, but she'll be 70 on Jan 1st 2019...)

Now I'm jealous, I've only got one trip away left this year, we're off to Tromsø in December for snow, food, scenery and northern lights. Next year is Morrocco for some sun. So two reasons to celebrate on New Years eve. (My lips are sealed, she'll never hear it from me)
