Merry Christmas !!

Hi all

I cannot say whether this has been either a good year or a bad year, from a UBT perspective. But clearly the signs are that this forum is being used less and less and I suspect fewer people are interested in continuing running BOINC (as existing members) and it is very likely few new people are getting involved with BOINC.

Whether the writing is on the wall for "distributed computing projects" I do not know. But it does seem that there are fewer active projects these days so, maybe BOINC could be on the downwards slope, as there are fewer "marquee" projects able to stir up lots more public interest in their respective fields.

I therefore wish every forum reader a Merry Christmas, where-ever you are.

And lets hope that 2025 is a better year all around, for everyone and that maybe the major world issues of the recent past can all be resolved peacefully and without any acrimony?

regards
Tim

Tim,
Have the merriest of Christmases yourself. May Santa bring you lots of hobnobs (especially the chocolate ones) and plenty of cheer.

The decline in BOINC is certainly not helped when projects have serious platform issues (e.g. the continuing debacle with WCG) and everything requires funding, which is an increasing problem.

Anyway, for anyone still reading this forum, happy BOINCing in 2025!
Penny

Hi Penny

Thanks for the message and season's greetings to you and your family.

Ah - Chocolate Hobnobs...now that brings back some happy memories, esp the dark chocolate versions, that came in a slight pink-ish coloured wrapper :-) The trouble is finding this version, though I did treat myself to a "double pack" of the milk chocolate versions a while back - needless to say, they didn't last long !

However, my fave at the present time are the Aldi Dark Chocolate Lebkuchen Hearts, which are gorgeous ! (They come a red packet, as opposed to the milk chocolate versions which are in blue packs).

https://groceries.aldi.co.uk/en-GB/p-be ... 1459717396

And now reduced from £1.45 to 99p per pack !!!

Sadly these are very seasonal but I bought about 5 packs, which might keep me going until maybe February !!

Tim
