Hi Mark
Congratulations !! Thats a BIG achievement !!
Hopefully you won't get too carried away with the celebrations, although I'll be sure to raise a toast to you the next time I open a bottle of something alcoholic
regards
Tim

Just noticed today on the Boinc combined user stats page that you've gone past half a trillion! That's amazing, well done.
I'm still battling for my first billion, but it shouldn't be too long now.....

Hi Jeff,
Thank you, my total owes a lot to Bitcoin Utopia where the right hardware could return 6-7 BILLION credits a day. Discounting that, I'm *only* at 7.5 billion.
I have been crunching for nearly twenty years now though

and it was still December 2016 before I reached my first real billion. You should be there in less than a month
Mark

I know, skewing all the stats and not doing any 'real' work!

being serious it did some good things as the end projects got some good money as the price of bitcoin has been high lately (previously).
In terms of stats, I am sure CPU crunchers felt the same way when GPUs came along hahaha

Oh yes, I'm sure several projects preferred getting cash as an alternative to work crunched. Some of the projects weren't even Boinc related so it was the only way they'd benefit.
I bet they did, still didn't stop all the arguments about "obscene credits".
