Well well well!
After looking at the stats tonight we managed to do 9,380,413 in just one day! Quite an achievement, so well done all. Wonder if we can crack the 10M barrier one day?? :D

Who knows? I've just swapped out a 4850 for a 4870

Mwhahaha! On we go! 8)
I also see that ATI have released the newer 6000 series GPU's, although it seems to be a little disappointing in terms of performance upgrades. Not much change in speed, and not really much change in energy consumption. Ah well, maybe the 7000 series eh? :P

I think the 68xx series is really replacing the 5750/5770-5830 range (although without Double Precision which the 5830 had) and the 69xx cards will replace the 5850/5870 & 5970 shortly.
Change of naming convention by AMD - not very clear or helpful.

Oh... Now that does put a spanner in the works :?
I suppose it is a bit like what Nvidia did! *sigh*

The 68XX series is aimed at the mid range gamer market, and therefor has no DP - the latter is not needed, so why waste chip space ...
The high cards in 6XXX will be the 69XX which will be on the shelves first week in December as the high end range of cards. Those will be DP enabled, and current rumours have its memory speed as GDDR5 @5.5-6Ghz - that plus design changes mean its going to fly, and be a marked improvement on the 5970, the latter already owns the graphic power stakes.
They also released the 6850 this week to add to the 6870 already out there. The 6850 also takes out the 460 & 470's. Once Cayman is released in December with the 69XX, NVidia will be left for dead, they have nothing to respond with. Its more than the usual leapfrogging, the 5870 and 5970 already deal with the 480, 69XX will grind NVidia into the deck.
I hope NVidia have something on the horizon other than the impending spin laden paper launch of the 580 (which is only a tweeked 480, and what the original bugged 480/GF100 should have been), else there will be total AMD domination, and thats not good for pricing levels. On current showing tho, they don't, and I expect by end Q1 2011 that AMD will own the graphics market top to bottom.
Regards
Zy

I've also noticed that ATI have a range of 3XXX 4XXX and 5XXX cards in Dell laptops. I expect they are mobile cutdowns of the main range of ATI cards, but I also suspect they are going to grind NVIDEA into the laptop deck as well.

Please watch where you are posting, guys.
Posts regarding GPU cards etc should go in "Hardware, Software & Gaming".
Cheers.

A long story, the moral of which is don't try and use a different brand of charger in your lappy if yours packs in. Make sure you buy the proper charger!
