The latest PG challenge is a 3 day event on Proth Prime Search (LLR), and starts on February 14th. at 18-00, and ends on February 17th. at 18-00.

That gives us 5 days to lower cache levels etc.

Are we up for this one, guys?

If I remember correctly, I think they take less than an hour.

Still hope yet then   Now switched a few more cores over so hopefully should rise a bit quicker over the next few hours  :roll: "should"

Problem with 'server unable to open database' message seems to have cleared itself up. Not a lot of talk about it on the message boards, so obviously not considered too serious at this stage.

I`ve been watching the Primegrid site, on and off, all day.
It seems that the main problem is that the server has been overloaded, presumably due to the current challenge.

That's not to mention the way the WU have been sent out, its confused the BM  totally!!
I resorted to Pausing all the part crunched WU's and manually allowing the WU with the shortest completion time to complete, it was that or the distinct possibility of timed out WU's.

All sorted now so lets keep it up team !!

Nearly two thirds of the way through and the team is currently in 17th place and, touch wood, looking reasonably safe.

I lost about three hours last night, on my 4 core box, because of the database access problem.  Bummer!

Yes, It`s becoming increasingly annoying!
If PG don`t sort themselves out soon, I`m going to call it a day, and go back to what I was doing before the challenge.  :evil:

it is a real pain in the a**e

Same here. Still, nearly 1 day  to go and a boat load pending, we may have a chance yet.  :D

I have just reported my 1st Find for almost 2 years, got the email tonight and have given PG permission to report it !!
