Since they only take 5 mins or so, I say 100% on this until it finishes! :) Start your engines (de-fluff them first)

Count me in also

I'll have reached my goal of 1 million on Riesel by then.
And I might as well have a bit of fun before I have to back off from Boinc for 2 weeks in July and 2 weeks in August

UP DATE>>>>>>
******************************************
Welcome to PrimeGrid's Birthday Challenge
PrimeGrid’s Challenge series continues with the Birthday Challenge. Please come join us in celebrating PrimeGrid’s 3rd Birthday. A 24 hour Challenge is being offered on PrimeGrid’s oldest active application, the Twin Prime Search. Hopefully we’ll be able to give PrimeGrid a good present by finding the twin during the Challenge.
To participate, please select only the TPS LLR project in your PrimeGrid preferences section. The challenge will begin 12 June 2008 00:00 UTC and end 13 June 2008 00:00 UTC. Application builds are available for Linux 32 bit and Windows 32 bit. These applications will be sent to 64 bit clients. As with all LLR application projects, there is no advantage of 64 bit over 32 bit.
Scores will be kept for individuals and teams. Only WU's that are issued and credit granted within the 24 hours will be counted. Since this is a fixed n as well as a fixed credit project, we’ll be using cobblestones for scoring.
Best of Luck in finding the twin primes.

Just another nudge to remind peeps this starts tomorrow

Starts at 01:00 Thursday ends 01:00 Friday for us.
Just remember only TPS LLR work downloaded and reported back during those times counts!
Just make sure in your PrimeGrid Preferences you only have "Twin Prime Search" selected.

TPS is fixed credit @ 1.45 per wu, which is pants on slow machine (6.5 credits/hour), you need to be completing wus in under 4.5 mins to get near 20 credits an hour.

As I read it you will only qualify for credits for this challange if you have downloaded the WU's after the start of the challenge, so don't go loading it up with 24hrs worth of work before 0100Hrs cos I don't think it will count towards the total ?

Credits are a bit poo, but it's only a 24 hour thing, so not that bad
Yeah Timby that's correct, only work Downloaded
AFTER 01:00 on Thursday 12th and reported back
BEFORE 01:00 Friday 13th (EEP!!) counts!!!
Just hope before 0:00 UTC (01:00 for us) they increase the number of available TPS workunits, as we all know some stoopid plebs are going to set the cache to 1 day and join with 30 pootas and kill the server for 3 hours.....

You broke out in a cold sweat as you typed 'Friday 13th', didnt you?

Look out for Mr Jinx!!

If Mr Melter vanishes on Friday it's only because I jinxed his poota.
It exploded and he is busy trying to persuade the misses that he really does need an 8 core 3.2Ghz poota to replace it
However if Seti@Home blows up, I'll be doing the happy dance for the rest of the year
