Service installation

Post by DJH@GB-Ro »

Could someone explain to me how BOINC runs differently as a service installation?

What are the pros/cons?

Thanks :)

I'll have a stab
I think the only difference is that you don't have to run boincmgr and therefore no boinc icon in the tasktray and no boincmgr popping up when the machine starts.
I'm not 100% about it, never installed as service.

If there is only one user account on the computer your best off just sticking with single user installation

I think I will, as I'd like to see the graphics every now and then. I'll do a service installation on the other computer which has 3 users.
