old comp wiped

have old computer would like it give new life like to run linux in it what is best way to start a wiped drive ................................will need cd drivers and probable floppy drs *****************clean start afresh get it ready for some small time boincing

I have it installed on a 3.2Ghz P4 machine, it works fine for me !!!
