Re: GTX1160
Not a lot of difference between them in capabilities, slightly better performance for the GTX1660 due to the higher clocks and slightly lower power.
The GTX1660 does not have actual ray tracing cores, ray tracing can be done on any Directx capable card (even on the GTX1060s)
If buying new then I'd go for the GTX1660 but I wouldn't replace an existing GTX1060 with one.

Re: GTX1160
Hi all
So, there's a GTX 11xx Series AND a GTX 16xx Series now ??
Jeez - it was bad enough with the GTX 5xx, 6xx, 7xx, and then 9xx Series, etc
regards
Tim

It's like car number plates, the 1160 comes out at the start of the year, the 1660 at the endUBT - Timbo wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 10:57 pm Hi all

(There isn't a GTX 1160, the number has been registered by GPU manufacturers but nothing's been made. I think it was a Mikee typo)

Definitely unnecessary to spend money upgrading to GTX 1660s, upgrading to RTX 2080tis though is necessaryUBT - Mikee wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 11:15 pm Hi

Re: GTX1160
In my opinion, the best combined performance per watt and per pound at the moment is either the GTX 1660ti or the RTX 2070.
The 1660ti isn't that much of an improvement over what you already have and the RTX 2070 is quite a step up in price.
Of course you could upgrade both GTX 1060s to a single RTX 2070 for about ~15% performance drop but save on power? It would leave room for a second RTX 2070 in the future
(Purely to save typing I've shortened the phrase "your friend" to the symbol "you" nothing is implied by this )
