Why Amazon delivers small items in huge boxes.
This popped up in my Twitter feed today, explains why a 140mm case fan turned up in a box that would fit a pair of wellies.

Re: Why Amazon delivers small items in huge boxes.
Hi Will
I always thought it was because the delivery drivers had poor eyesight and couldn't "see" small packages, even if they had large labels on them...so, they use larger boxes which are more uniform to see.
Also, small packages can get "lost" easily within the drivers clothing, so by making the box bigger reduces pilferage !!
regards
Tim
