Team assistance and help

Team Forum NOW OPEN
For further assistance about any of the BOINC projects, or how to set up BOINC software and get it to work, please sign in to our Team Forum by clicking on this link.

There are a number of members already signed up, who are prepared to offer help if requested.
So please feel free to get interactive with the forum - it's there to provide free help and assistance, but only if you ask for it!!

Consolidation of member stats:
The way the stats websites work is by combining the individual work credits attained by each account and then by merging all those user names that have the same email address.

So, to ensure that your own stats are properly merged (and hence you achieve a higher team ranking), we would strongly suggest that you ensure that the email address that you have registered with each project, is exactly the same for every BOINC project you have joined - if not, you'll end up with multiple entries in the stats pages.

(It's very easy to make the change, even after you've created the account - just edit your email address & username in each project and make them all the same - even your username is "case-sensitive" so check this as well).

Then all your work will be shown as belonging to one owner - and you'll zoom up the group charts !!

You might even want to consider adding the prefix "UBT -" to your username - then on this BOINCSynergy stats link, you can view *all* of your UK BOINC Team stats across every project...!

You can only combine stats if the cross-project "key" is the same -  i.e. you only have the one account - signing up for multiple projects, where each project assigns a new "key" will result in multiple accounts that cannot be merged (apparently!)

Policy of using third-party stats sites:
Before putting this site together, to support the UK BOINC Team, we had many idea's as to what would help the team the most. And it became apparent to us, that the most useful thing of all, was the ability to see how well each team member was doing, in comparison to other team members as well as other crunchers from around the world. As such, we decided to make this site a "portal" providing links to as many statistics sites as are available, rather than building our own stats site. Firstly, there are better programmers "out there" than us and secondly, there's no point in trying to "re-invent the wheel".
So, please forgive our reliance on other websites for stats - it just seemed more sensible to us !
