Hi Naon
My stats pages have picked you up on the Einstein project, nice one
If you run any other projects, be sure to use the same email address throughout.
Doing so will ensure all your accounts are combined into the same CPID (Cross Project ID).
You can then get a fancy signature graphic like some of us have.

Welcome to the Team.

Don't worry about asking stupid questions as questions don't get much more stupid as mine.

I think you will find the competition is very keen on the most stupid question. I pride myself on being in the running!

Hi well.. i have installed five programs and i think all is well. i have suspended some of my programs to try and get some work done for SETI but when i try to access my account from the web site they have not even heard of my email but they have my computer doing work for them. i have gained credit for 3 of them but none for SETI. I take it that the climate programe will not give me any credit until i finish the project.

also i am tring to update the team name in the projects window (some of them are not showing)...any idea's.

And how do i get a chart like you all have. should i have put UBT before my user name... Thankyou  :D

There are two ways to log in to your account - via email address and password or by the code number that the project sent you when you signed up.

The email address you have used on Rosetta project is OK - as you haven't yet joined our Team on SETI, I can't confirm if you have entered the correct email address for that project.
i have gained credit for 3 of them but none for SETI. I take it that the climate programe will not give me any credit until i finish the project.
SETI only gives you credit once your returned work is validated against other members results. So, you might not get credit for perhaps 1 or 2 weks after you return the work. If you have a slow computer or you do not return the results within the completion time, you may get zero credits.

The Climate projects give out "trickle" credits during the course of the crunching - but if you have only one slow computer, then you may find that the trickles take some time to complete. So, be patient or concentrate on just one or two projects at a time.

All credits are given by each project and are not dependant on other projects. So, if you complete some SETI Wu's you don't have to finish the CPDN work to receive SETI credits....!
also i am tring to update the team name in the projects window (some of them are not showing)...any idea's.
The team name in the projects tab will show once you have joined the Team and have then done a "update" - sometimes it can take a few hours for the project to recongnise you have joined a Team - at present you are only a member of UBT on "Rosetta" project.

As far as I can tell you are only crunchign for Einstein SETI andRosetta, using the "Naon" name. If you are crunching on other projects, then you shoudl go to "your account" on the otehr projects and make sure the email address used is the same on these other projects - othrwise, you will not have your stats "combined".
And how do i get a chart like you all have. should i have put UBT before my user name... Thankyou  :D
Which "chart" do you mean? If you are talking about teh "table" of results that some member display on theforum, then you need to go here:

Also I see you are using GridRepublic to use BOINC with its not my ideal choice of account managers, it doesn't support all the projects and is very poor in my eyes. Hope you are happy with it, if not try BAM!

Any way hers what you need to do to get your account key for SETI

Go to the folder that you installed BOINC to

Find a file called account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml

Right click on the file and click edit

3rd line down there should be <authenticator>********************************</authenticator> it will have a random string of characters, I have blocked mine out

That's your account key copy and paste it and go to the SETI website and log-in using account key, once in you can check the e-mail you are signed up with change it if needed and add a password
