Hi

Good to hear from you :-)

That's a good total...but I might have to trump you ( a little bit) as I just hit the 144 beeellion mark !!

PC power supplies seems to be a bit of a curse for most crunchers...I've had a few go faulty, and sometimes, it can have knock-on effects if it damages any other part of the PC...I've lost a couple of mobo's when this has happened.

One thing I'd love to do is to find out why said PSUs fail...I'm pretty good with analogue power supplies, but these switch-mode supplies baffle me somewhat...

But being built to a price in China, I'm guessing that they are not really geared up to supplying enough current to support current hungry CPUs and GPUs.

Hope the house move and holiday went well... I've been to Lanzarote (Costa Teguise) a couple of times, and it's a good place to chillax at, esp the local markets and the Cesar Manrique exhibition. We even drove up to the top of Mirador del Río - great views from there ;-)

regards
Tim

Congratulations both of you on your milestones :handgestures-thumbupright:

I've never been to Lanzarote but I've never had a failed PSU either. I don't think there's a connection but ....

Holiday was great. Ate too much and drank way to much but a great week. lanzarote is my go to destination in january. i try to get a cheapy most years and 4 of us go away. only two of us this this year, the other two slumming it in Mirabel on a snowboarding trip. too energetic for me. done all the local stuff, north tours, south tours, camels, fire mountains, wine tasting, blind white crabs, green lagoons, safaris blah blah blah.

As for the power supply...........hmmmmmmmm...... just let's say i won't be buying a certain make again.
