Hi all
I came across this by chance and thought it might interest some people:
http://plfcomputing.com/padolfathome.html
Basically this is a portable, live implementation of BOINC and it can run BOINC from a bootable USB port on an unused PC.
From the documentation it seems to run Einstein@home and MilkyWay@home and it supports both CPU and GPU hardware.
The software is available under the Creative Commons licence.
Note that the links to the ZIP files are wrong - just remove the "/slic3r_live" folder name to download the ZIP files Both ZIPs are approx 1 Gb in size.
regards
Tim
