Hi Nick

I don't know if it's "me" but I get a SSL error when using Chrome to view the link (which I think is a problem between BS and Chrome - I emailed Willy about this a month or two ago, but he hasn't fixed it :-(.

Putting the link into Firefox, gets me to the website, but it only shows the normal page, as I cannot access BAM as it's your account (I think).

I guess you are using BAM ? If so, then maybe it's not picked up your account or CPID somehow? I've not used it in ages, so I can't recall the setup procedure...but it might be that.

Anyone else use BAM and can help Nick ?

regards
Tim

PS Your BS stats *are* being counted and updated - see here: http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/user/ ... rojectList

Hi

I don't use BAM but as far as I can see that host ID doesn't exist. I may be on the wrong track but is this you?

http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/user/detail/3685301 - The user ID is 3685301

If so, this is the link to the PCs you have ever used for BOINC

http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/host/ ... d149b23b87 - top one being the most recent.

Is this any help?

Mike

Hi
Seems all the cross project identifiers are different. - Only the first PC agrees with your! Make sure your emails addys in each project are exactly the same - this is usually the cause of the mismatches.

Hi Nick

Also check here:

http://ubtstats.co.uk/ubt/ubt_graph.php ... rname=nick

These are the projects that our webstats website has identified as being "yours". If you are crunching on any *other* projects(1) (which are not shown) then take a look at your account info for that project and correct it. Then leave it a couple of days so that the CPID can then align.

regards
Tim

(1) Please note that some recent projects are not included in this report, as the stats website author hasn't updated them for over a year and hence FiND, Goofy, SRBase, vdwnumbers, etc are not shown. :(

its seems about right on that page.

i just bought 3 dual xeon 5570's for the us office and was going to set the to crunch during out of office hours but the normal bionic manager only has 1 time field per day so any ideas how i can set them to only crunch out of 9am to 5pm office hours? will it work if i put 5:30pm in the first box and say 8:30 am in the second? reading the info i don't think it will.

i could just test it and see on Monday just being lazy if someone already has the answer.

Hi Nick,

mmm...some more Xeons joining the party :) Nice CPU's - I only recently got an "earlier" 12 core Xeon up and running...not the worlds fastest CPU (running it at stock frequency for now, but it's got a big cooler on it so overclocking might be worthwhile one day !) but it does turn in loads of results. :)

re: time fields
BM only has the one per day, as does BoincTasks (which is what I use). Ideally you need 2 fields per day so you can set "midnight to 9am" and a "5:30pm to midnight" settings. For weekends though, you can set a Friday "5:30pm to midnight" and then do Sat/Sundays as "24 hours" and then Monday "midnight to 9am"....

FWIW, with just the one field, I just crunch from (say) 00:01 until 9am on the other weekdays...so you'd "lose" the 5:30pm to midnight option, but you'd make the most of the early hours period.

Tim

yeah they have fx1800 in them already talked the boss into getting better cards so they can dual monitor and have loads of windows open. told them these old cards 768 megs will be a bottleneck if they have more than a few browser windows and a few office programs open gonna put gtx750ftw's in there cheap enough and should drop in a few weeks

ok well i just learned something boinc only see's one gpu when you have a gtx and an fx in a rig i thought maybe have the both crunch. The good news is it uses the faster card. then i though maybe it will use the fx o boost the gtx but nope. o-well there staying in now not going open the 3 back up to pull them.

Hi Nick

Have you tried this:

Code: Select all

<cc_config>
<options>
.
<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
.
</options>
</cc_config>
in your cc_config.xml file ?

Hi Nick

Are both VGA cards "seen" by the NVIDIA Control Panel ?

Look at the Performance > Device settings and you should see a drop down box with both GPU names listed.

If only one is seen, then maybe there's a tweak in the BIOS required? Or maybe you need to reseat the cards in the PCIe slots?

Tim

ok i think its just atlas being i memory hog i hope as its running 3 tasks if i remember right i think i read on here you can make a config file for each project so you can limit it or tell it to do more per cpu but i don't remember how or where i saw it.

Hi Nick

I've not run Atlas, but it runs under VBox so hence unless you have bags of CPU power and memory, I would imagine it might use up a fair chunk of resources, even with 8Gb of ram !!

Having said that, you might be able to limit the number of Atlas processes within BM in VBox, (say set it to 3, as that allows a bit of overhead) and then you can run some less intensive tasks on the rest of the CPU's you have.

There's an interesting post here, which might help:

Turns out its not a timer just an on off flag so you can do 6pm to 9am. or what ever that schedule is that day or at least it seems that way ill know for sure in a few days not been watching it like a hawk.

Try here viewtopic.php?f=22&t=5895&p=108538#p108411 It can also be applied to Atlas :D

7.6.22 calls it "Compute only between xx and yy", nice to know they don't have to be the same day ... although mine usually run 24/7 anyway :)

A bit late to the party but an alternative would be to use the "Exclusive Applications" setting if there's always a certain programme running during working hours (email?) or the "Suspend when non-BOINC CPU usage is above xx" field and run 24 hours a day. I've used both in the past when I wanted to occasionally run a particular application that's not especially CPU heavy (but needed a lot of HDD access and Boinc reading and writing slowed it down) without the hassle of stopping and re-starting Boinc.

Regards,

Mark

i think its a from this time off from this time on sort of thing so you just put them in backwards so rule out the work day
