To prevent Wifi background scans, using Wlan Optimizer

From Computer Active Magazine, Quote:
Windows 7 and Vista regularly scan for available wireless networks, but this can cause temporary glitches in the connection.
This can be annoying when streaming music or video, or playing online games.

Wlan Optimizer is a free tool that cures this. Just install it, click "Start with Windows" box, and forget it. Quote.

I have tried this with a rig that is a long way from my router, and which kept losing the connection. Since using Wlan Optimizer, I have had no further trouble.
