Rabbit Rabbit Challenge PrimeGrid

This section is where you can post topics related to Challenges from other websites, such as Formula-BOINC, SETI-Germany and BOINCstats, as well as project challenges such as from WCG, PrimeGrid et al.

As a Team, we really want to engage as many team members with these challenges, as this gives us a great way of attracting more members to our Team...plus we get to show our strengths as a Team by (hopefully) doing well in each one.

PS: I have moved lots of topics into this section where they are relevant...as you can see, we've always been happy to take part in Challenges...and long may that continue ;-)

Count me in. Not as rewarding as sieving but with 9.3 credits for 14 minutes work it's not unreasonable. I'll give it a go for three days.  :)

Huh? Image

I did a few of these last week to see how long they take. My Q6600 (not slow!) took over 11 hours for 2,200(ish) credits each! What the heck you running there!!  :D

I ran a few through this bog standard i7 earlier today, got about thirty all claiming to need 15 minutes and that was the result. I'm assuming that PPS LLR is the right sub project?

Maybe they've changed them from earlier?

I'm in, I'll switch both mine to it.

I'm a PrimeGrid Newb, only done it for Team Challenges since coming here.  Grateful someone check me out that I have the correct sub-project/app:

PPS LLR v5.11 CPU only ??

Ran some through a PhenomII Quad 3.2Ghz, sample result:

Only the sub project marked "High Priority Project
Year of the Rabbit Challenge project" should be selected.

I'll be there with a few cores. I might have to do the lightweight ones on my laptop though (via PRPNet).

That`s right, but make sure that you download the WUs after 18.00, as any downloaded before will not count in the challenge.

Not at all (But thanks for the idea :P)

It's a i7/860 @ 2.80GHz, nothing special.

To check, I've just allowed downloads of PPS LLR again and got 97 (!) tasks of "PPS LLR 5.11 pps_llr_extended_76125497_0" type WUs, each claiming to need 00:17:50 to complete.

Running just one for now and it's at 45.990% after 00:07:28.

I'm not complainig since I'm going to have to allow downloads 2 hours  before the Challenge actually starts (as I'm not around for the weekend) and I don't want to lose too much time by crunching WUs that have downloaded too early.

EDIT: Finished in ~13 minutes
226587183 159487723 3 Feb 2011 11:11:48 UTC 3 Feb 2011 11:28:53 UTC Completed, waiting for validation 810.21 771.61 pending PPS LLR v5.11

Seems to be settling down now. Let`s hope it keeps together for the next 3 days.

Edit: after 12 hours, I have still to get a single validated result!
Backing off until things improve.

Same here Rick, 200+ WUs waiting to be validated and another 30 added each hour.

The validator was at 170K after about seven hours, now at 350K after fifteen! Doesn't seem to be validating much and there's no sign that it'll catch up in the near future  :(

Validation will rely upon your wing man and the servers at PG.
You will get the BOINC credit eventually!
It will not make any difference to the challenge when you get the credit as they are using the size of the candidate to score not the amount of credit you get.

No need to back-off unless you have to have instant gratification  :P

Pete,

Waiting for wing men has been disabled during the challenge, the only hold up is the servers (which aren't coping too well at the moment!) From the PrimeGrid challenge page:
A quorum of 2 is NOT needed to award Challenge score - i.e. no double checker. Therefore, each returned result will earn a Challenge score. Please note that if the result is eventually declared invalid, the score will be removed.
I'm not interested in the Boinc credit as such, I just want my challenge points same as (some) other participants are getting :D and it appears that it only happens once the result has been validated as I've been returning results for the past seventeen hours but still not got any challenge points.

Mark

[Edit] OK, it seems I am actually getting creditted according to the users table on PrimeGrid  http://www.primegrid.com/challenge/2011 ... users.html (as are you Rick, currently in fourth place in the team, 311th overall) but it's not getting exported. [/Edit]

Looking at the "pending" results, there are still wingmen, and minimum quorum is still 2.
Many of my wingmen have completed their WUs, but the total result is still pending.

Rick,
You are currently in 370th place with 2063.04 points (those aren't BOINC credits of course).

It is clear that the server is totally unable to cope, yet again.
I`ll give it a hand by detaching, and doing a more productive project.
