Server status

Hey,

Can anyone explain how the server status pages are generated. Either the server status that appers in Project News. Or the server status that appears on the project website.

How do you poll the servers for a response, just pings? I was looking at doing something like that for work.

Any pointers to source code etc would be appreciated.

Have not got a clue in the slightest on how it is done, if you want to know about the ones on the project websites take a look at the BOINC site and search for info on that
