PrimeGrid: Winter Solstice Challenge

This section is where you can post topics related to Challenges from other websites, such as Formula-BOINC, SETI-Germany and BOINCstats, as well as project challenges such as from WCG, PrimeGrid et al.

As a Team, we really want to engage as many team members with these challenges, as this gives us a great way of attracting more members to our Team...plus we get to show our strengths as a Team by (hopefully) doing well in each one.

PS: I have moved lots of topics into this section where they are relevant...as you can see, we've always been happy to take part in Challenges...and long may that continue ;-)

Erm, aren't we supposed to be doing a Christmas crunchathon thing over at WCG during December?  :?

Let's see if we can have a good challenge to finish the year.

We're currently 18th and need 12.5 points more than Duke University to gain a place.

The Winter Solstice Challenge
2009-12-18 04:47 UTC
Only 13 hours remain till the Winter Solstice Challenge. The pre-fires have a nice red glow, and we're expecting them to turn a deep blue once the Challenge begins. Who knows...by the end of the Challenge they may even become white hot. :) Please come join us in a Winter Festival that is sure warm you up. The top spots for the 2009 Challenge Series are up for grabs.

A 3 day (72 hour) Challenge is being offered on PrimeGrid's AP26 Project. Builds are available for Mac, Linux, Windows, Solaris, Cell/BE Linux (Playstation 3), and for the first time, GPU-CUDA23 app. For more information on how to join, please see this forum thread.

Looks like we were looking in the wrong direction  :?

I doubt if we can overtake Duke now, and SETI USA are certain to overtake both of us (and a lot more).

Not that it makes much of a difference but I'll switch over to this project for a bit.  :)

Well done to all who contributed.

Never mind Glen missing out on a top 100 place, I almost made the top 300!  :D
