A Bigger Crunch at Home

After recent discussions elsewhere we've decided to have 'A Bigger Crunch at Home' for project ABC@Home.

Just to make things difficult the target has been set for us to reach 8 million before the end of the month.

The last time we did ABC we did 331,133 in a week.

So lets see if we can get 350,000 over any 7 days as well!

Current Stats...

As at 16:26 2nd August 2008 we have 7,094,659 credits as reported by BOINCStats. RAC is 10,314.

BOINCStats says 8 million will be reached in 79.3 days on October 20 2008.

Start, finish, jump in whenever you like!

{edit}Orange have decided to end the original version of the web software they used to use along with the site, so all images and data that were there are now not, and I haven't got round to working out their new way of doing things yet!

A great start! We've almost hit 4 days worth in a day and there's more to come when the WUs really start to get validated!

As at 16:26 2nd August 2008 we have 7,094,659 credits as reported by BOINCStats. RAC is 10,314.

BOINCStats says 8 million will be reached in 79.3 days on October 20 2008.

Total = 7,135,093 (gain of 40,434)
Last 7 days total is 102,734.

BOINCStats says 8 million will be reached in 55.22 days on September 28 2008 (Gained 24 days!)

Todays' credit was 46,611. They've been there over a year so perhaps it's time to change them?

Which 64bit OS best to run, Linux or Windows.Running Unbuntu at mo on the Quad,but want run Gpu when i get my G8.Cheers.

Windows X64 seems to beat Linux x64 (when I have had same pc vc mine).
However that might be due to overclock on other users PC as my Quad is running stock.

If you are talking about Running PS3GRID, then you have to use Linux x64, no choice in that matter I'm afraid as it's a Linux x64 project only at the moment

We overtook 'Russia' ahead of schedule today and very nearly got another 'best' Top 5, but not quite.

We've now gained over 500,000 in less than 2 weeks, and taken the time to reach 8 million from 11 weeks to just 2 weeks.

We've had a BEST EVER SCORE! Well done everyone who contributed to the 63,030 we had on the 18th.

Seems if we carry on at this rate we can finish in just over 3 days or sooner as I'm sure a few people have quite a high amount 'pending'.

We just need another 12,858 to get the 8 million. So anyone that has had enough can safely run down their cache. Regular ABC crunchers and pendings will take care of the remaining.

Well done everyone who contributed!

It took us just 20 days to reach the 8 million from a standing start!

We took nearly 2 months off the time to reach 8 million!

Daily average rose from 12,232 to 54,426.

Output increased by 300,000 over 7 days.

We hit 4 of the Top 5 best ever days (it would take another 3 days better than 57,977 to get the final one).

I'm up for 9 million.

Only have ABC running on a couple of cores at the minute due to the Prime Grid challenge but can put them all back on ABC on Monday.
