I just got a 2100 hour long WU from CPDN   and that's on a 3.2 GHz core too! It's modelling years 1920 to 2100 guess they are upping their game a bit.

Ouch :S and 3.2Ghz is no slouch either..

Mine is doing modeling from 1810 to 2050 and so far i have done 17.850% after 75:05 hours. This one is going to take a few more months i think

I'd done about 15% of a similar size WU when my 'pootah decided it was running one program too many and threw in the towel. When it had cooled down and I restarted it the CPDN WU had aborted itself! :(

Got a nice little 430hr one running at the moment, carefully monitered and only running by itself when I'm not using the 'pootah! :D

There are three different types of climate model - Cris's model was a HadCM3, Ben's model was a HadSM3 (you can specify which type you prefer via the project preferences).

If you look at the following post, first two links in the 'information' section, you should find more info about the types of model available, and how to select particular types:

If you're running a very long model, then you can take a copy of Boinc as a backup at intervals (when it is not running).  If the PC crashes and takes the model with it, you can run the backup.  I'm lazy and do this about weekly or fortnightly, but some people do it every day.

Being greedy, I have one of the hadsm and hadcm  atm, though most of the time running the hadsm one as it's the shortest. This one is currently 33% complete. Other is only 0.645% after 16:56:14 of crunching time. Will complete the shorter one first, then concentrate on the longer one, which still has 1309:40:43 to go... No wonder comletion date is 11/09/2012!
