Gauntlet - The Gauntlet Challenge has started

Hi fellow Gauntlet members,

The Kings International Gauntlet Challenge 2007 has now started, as of 7pm (GMT) last night.

As such, please ensure that you are crunching as much for SETI@home over the next TWO weeks, so that all the credits you earn during this period, can be included within our total Gauntlet total.

According to my contacts from both S@NL (the admins of the competition) and via our UK BOINC Team forum, we will have a pretty strong team of 86 members.

You can view how many credits you (and the many other participants) are contributing on their stats page here:

And if everyone can contribute as many credits as possible during the fortnight, then we will have a very good chance of winning this quite prestigious event...

PS If you want to crunch for SETI faster (and hence do more work with any given period), then please view the "How to install Chicken Soup" page on our forum here:

(This allows you to install an optimised SETI application, which means each WU can take between 20-30% LESS time to complete !!).

THough this looks a bit confusin at the moment as it appears we are now already into the 7th Nov!

Hi Rod,

Over the last two weeks of testing, those dates (at the tops of the columns) haven't actually changed.

This is because they were/are "set" to the period of the Gauntlet itself.

But what has changed is the data within the columns, as these are somehow filled from each respective days stats.

Of course what we don't know is how these will be updated, depending on who is doing the "back-office" updates to the page...

There are a couple of other teams members with zero scores too.
Perhaps there is some linking problems with the Seti scores.

Anyway looks like we are less than 2000 credits behind "TeAm AnandTech" so hopefully with this many of our teams scores not registering it could make all the difference.

Overclockers.com and Boinc.BE are peeling away without much chance of catching them. So third is certainly achievable. :D fingers crossed.

Hi all,

As can be seen from, the top posting on this thread, I've emailed every UBT Gauntlet team member, so that they are aware they should be crunching WUs during this period.

Only time will tell whether everyone will make a contribution.

(Obviously, some will contribute more than others, nuff said).

Just need to keep our fingers crossed that the correct a/c numbers have been used.....

You should also note that 9 registered members weren't included on their stats when I looked this morning, so I sent S@NL an email to ask why not.

Hi all,

The Gauntlet ends today at 7pm (GMT).

If you are able to, please make sure that you have "selected" the Project tab in BOINC Manager, then "selected" the SETI@home project and then pressed the "update" key well BEFORE this time.

This will ensure that all your completed results have been uploaded to the SETI server...and hopefully you will receive credits straight away.

Please do this SOONER, rather than later, coz if your result is the 1st one uploaded, you won't receive credits until the 2nd has been received and validated...and no one knows when that will happen......!
