Reduced backwards compatibility for European PS3

Having problems installing that new stick of memory? Found some great software or having issues with something? Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

Seems Sony are having issues with the European version of the PS3:

Sounds like a cop-out to me....why reduce some functions to what is essentially software emulatin instead of running on the so-called super-fast CELL CPU's...!
