SETI@Home - Network fix

Post by UBT - Halifax-lad »

We have been undergoing some network changes recently, and will continue to be testing over the coming weeks. This has "confused" some BOINC clients that were in the process of uploading/downloading during such changes.

If you are finding your client unable to connect, first try quitting and restarting the BOINC client. If this fails, you may need to run a couple system commands to flush the pipes.

On Windows, run the following commands. You can do by clicking on the "Start" menu and then selecting "Run..." In the text box after "Open:" enter the following:

ipconfig /flushdns

Then click "OK." A blank DOS window may open for a second but will disappear on its own. Then once again click on "Start," select "Run..." and enter:

ipconfig /registerdns

Then click "OK." Then quit/restart the BOINC client.

The above worked for me. I had SETI stuck at uploading and SETI beta stuck at downloading.

It's cleared my mass of ready to reports but my uploads are still stuck.
repeated it twice now so I'll give it an hour or so then try again.
