I'm sorry all, but I got VERY addicted very quickly and it scared me quite a bit and my studying has suffered because of it. I was checking stats all the time even when I knew they wouldn't be updated.

I bet I'll come back to BOINC when studying is over, and when I do I'll be back in UBT for sure. But I am too weak to not let it get in the way of my studies right now.

Sorry again. But I hope to see you again in the future.

Sad to see you go but you can be sure of a good welcome when you come back. Best of luck with the studies.

True, that was a step too far, I'm not that weak with self discipline. I've rejoined all the projects, and will keep the family PC crunching. What I will probably do is BOINC in the holidays and any time I'm not studying, and maybe I overtime I can learn to have better self discipline.

But for now, I'll give the forum and BOINCing on my main PC a break, see you later for now!

damn, I was just about to edit my post and remove this.
After thinking about it for a while I decided it was totally irrelevant

Hi "Brabus".

This thing can be VERY addictive, but on the same token, BOINC is designed to just sit in the tray (on a Windows OS) and just crunch away.

Thanks for your involvement and for posting to the forum.

You'll be gladly welcomed back, once your higher priorities have been achieved.

Good luck - and be seeing you on the flip side.

regards,

Tim

I'm back, with a new level of self control. I installed BOINC as a service and it is less than half as distracting as before!

Just remember: must study before I BOINC

repeat (ad infinitetum) : must study before I BOINC

You'll soon get back "in control"... 8)

regards,

Tim

PS You're not, by any chance, "studying" to become a Brabus dealer at all? Couldn't wangle a nice "long term loan" deal - strictly for testing purposes, of course, just to make sure the vehicle is safe and roadworthy....!
