Hey Temujin,

JUst found 2 Solaris boxes  that've been running for ages. Know how I can tell how long they've been running? Top doesn't work. Must see if any uptime clients available.

Also found a AIX 4 box, same question.

Our Linux mail server  unfortunately clogs fairly easily. (some connections don't get closed properly) so that is set to reboot nightly.

Also got a couple of HP-UX boxes situate in California and a NCR_UX box. must investigate further.

only used solaris on a test machine we had years ago, its unix ish aint it?
never seen AIX but isn't that unix ish too ???
would've thought uptime was on both
if they are unix ish, you could try ps -ef | grep init, although thats likely to just give you a month or maybe (if your very lucky a year) rather than a definate uptime figure.

I'm warning you though, 2 can play at that game mate  :D
definately got some linux boxes that have been running over a year, maybe longer
and then there's the DEC Alphas
and the Sage boxes
:D  :D

OK we'll call it quits on the Unix boxes and just use our main machines. Anyway Have to install SSH server on them soon, plus CVS version control. Will probaly have to reboot anyway,
