Just helped a newbie to BOINC had used SETI Classic and now come to use BOINC, did not have access to the old email address from classic any more so talked the person through making a new account and transferring the classic points to the new BOINC account.
So one more happy user, using BOINC for the 1st time.

I agree, Once that line is crossed and it were to be allowed, You would have people trying to become helpers just to recruit people over helping them. If they asked what team are you on or something, Thats different as long as it isn't pushed onto them.
