Ex Norton Users

Post by UBT - Mikee »

This link is in this weeks ComputerActive.

I forgot that Norton used to leave bits of itself around after uninstalling. If you try to reinstall something it invariably wouldn't because of these bits. So Norton have produced a working tool to uninstall these extra bits. I'd advise to use it anyway just to get rid of the debris if you have ever used Norton before.

And as a typical Norton gaff it will only work with Internet Explorer - you will have to allow an ActiveX control and press the 'load/run' button a few times and it takes it's time!

This will uninstall all the bits left behind provided you're using IE

or copy and paste this into IE if you use any other browser.
