PVR Cases

Post by UBT - Halifax-lad »

Anyone know of any decent cases around to build a PVR with :?:

Not decided if I want one what looks similar to what a video player or DVD looks like or if I would want one like a bare-bone or midi case.

Any one any thoughts :?:

Won't be building it for a while yet but want to see whats out there at the moment

Hi Dave
Depends on your budget. The midi tower from Aria for £33 CSE-MID-A-2-BSA see http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductsList.asp? ... at=CSE-MID is fine.
I have one - easy access and no screw fit for CD/floppy with ATX 2.0 420w power. It needs a 92mm rear fan fitting.

Better is http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductI ... tID=352344 £35 and it needs a power supply, but will have no cooling problems, and no problems with a BIG cooler on the CPU, unlike the first case, which has a nice duct to a standard CPU cooler. Scan sell power supplies from http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductI ... ctID=97197 at £15
to £100 units. I also have one with the low cost power supply, my dual core Athlon has no problems with a single VGA card, If you are going for dual SLI etc. a better power supply may be needed.

For high cost - the best look - at the Overclockers UK forum  :pukeleft:

Thanks for the pointers, as usual there's too much to look at and you always want to buy it all

Forgot looks – first case is silver front -  white floppy/CD's don’t look too good. Second case the CD’s fit behind black self open/close flaps and with a black floppy will look good.
