Boinc Synergy React...

Post by Swissnic »

Looks like our team hasn't appeared on their radar yet, but they are pushing back on the RAC issue.

Thanks to the extra chaps crunching, we can still do them!  But it's going to be a tough slog!

Cheers, Nic.

With the members they have I think the gap is a little to wide to cover in the time left. Unless someone can pull out some 10-15 big players to join our cause and crunch solidly. I think 2nd is a fine prize and good work.

I'll be sad when this project stops, but plently of others to play with...

I think I am going to remove my CPDN WU's they mess up BOINC too much with the new version of the scheduler in the Alpha Versions.

Ditched the BBC WU that's the one that is a pain in the Ass

Your not crunching BBC so you can't cover me

PS: It looks so good to see BOINC back to normal after BBC CPDN help BOINC to ransom

Nope Ive got all the projects running again except the BBC CPDN, so the rest of them will all now get a fair share of crunch time

We lost a Team member on SAP yesterday and as SAP is a CPDN-based project, they took all their credits with them.  :(

Wouldn't worry about it, as they weren't crunching much - and with Temujin's "conversion" to crunch on SAP, we'll more than make up the diference in a very short time.

These things happen, so no problem. Just gives us more of a challenge to get past...!

regards,

Tim

On the upside, I received another 2Gb memory for another dual Opty machine...  :D   Just got to find a case for it, and we're away...   8)

3 out of the top 4 SAP RAC's worldwide are UK Boinc Team members - how cool is that!   8)  8)  8)  8)

[EDIT:  Ummm Thats actually Top 4 UK... thanks Mike!]

(And only 1 Synergy member makes it into top 5!!!   :bootyshake: )

I have a feeling this is going to the wire...!!!

Well, you could also say 4 past-or-present UBT members are in the top 5!

I only look forward...

Talking of which - i reckon its going to be an interesting month ahead!  :D

You prediction of 37 days until overtake is a bit optimistic I think - given your recent recruiting drive...  I think we have it pinned for 45 days...

Actually, to be fair, #5 is too high a position for me (if you look, it was the UK users list).  On the worldwide list I'm roughly #17 - #9, give or take depending on which site you look at, and whether you look at yesterdays credit or RAC.

In total credit I've got a long way to go (#25), and the project will finish before I get much further, particularly since Temujin is just about to take my spot.

Ah ha - now Mike is trying to gain association with our Team of winners...... :D

I can see what he's up to.......

But Mike - you were only a part of the Best Team for 13 days (joining on 15th Jan 06 and leaving on 28th Jan 06) :

http://www.boincsynergy.com/stats/team- ... h&team=151

Even so, we'd still welcome you back - you don't need to ask or even mention that you were ONCE a member of UBT before you jumped ship....

Naa, I've settled down now!   I don't even remember why I moved, either because I went to a project where you didn't have a team already set up, or because I find the signatures hard to read...  certainly nothing major.

You have BONIC Synergy worried, keep it up!
"Zain, the forums speak of chaos over at Rosetta and Ralph -- we are still losing ground in SAP. Lonely at the top time! These resources could give the edge at SAP to hold off UK BOINC! Command decision! "

LOVE IT .....................!

You can just see them, tweaking their PC's to get every last ounce of perforamnce from them, while we steam roller along....completely impervious to their so called "efforts"........

And I've now got my "offline" PC's about to rejoin the fray, as I've now got meself some half decent replacement PSU's, so expect my RAC to start climbing again - OK, maybe not at the dizzy heights of some, but "every little counts....!

Maplins are doing a Black case for £27.99 in their sale - includes an X-Power 400W PSU worth (according to them £39.99, but reduced to £22.99 !).

http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?Tab ... 1&doy=23m8

Even so, not a bad case for the money.

Cheers for the info Tim, but I'm rackmount now...   :D

Got myself a 22u Rack, and have 2 4u cases in it so far.

I bought this so far - might order another (takes eATX mobo's and is v.cheap for what it is...)

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductI ... tID=394468

Dual Opteron Mobo & ECC DDR ram is the expense in this one I think...  :?
