Catching up with Team CF !
Hi all,
Just a little observation:
We're now just a mere 500,000 credits behind Team CF.
At current rates, we should generate this amount of credit in the next week or so, and we should pass them into 2nd place in UK by next weekend.
Keep on crunching !
regards,
Tim

And now we're just under 200,000 behind and with a daily RAC of around 80,000 , we should overtake sometime this weekend....!!

Tim

This has been looked at before.UBT - Calum Mercer wrote:do we offer them the chance to join a winning team then?
In fact, some team members who were crunching for either "Team CF" or "UNITED KINGDOM" and who were also crunching for us (on other projects), we're invited a while ago to "defect" to us.
This resulted in UBT gaining a significant number of credits (around 1 million) from members who were (and still are) crunching for CPDN.
Now, as you may not realise, CPDN credits are DEDUCTED from a Team if a member leaves and the credits are ADDED to the new team.
So, by asking "Team CF" and "UNITED KINGDOM" members to jump ship, caused those teams credit total to drop and our teams total to increase.
Unfortunately, I could only get in contact by email with those members who had joined our Team on some of the projects.
So, it'll be difficult to contact any other "Team CF" members to see if they want to come on over.
On the other hand, maybe they'll notice that they are soon to be in 3rd place and will jump of their own accord???
regards,
Tim

Well done every one on overtaking Team CF at last but...
At the risk of getting flamed and called a thick b'stard - doesn't this mean we're number 3 not 2?
according to
http://www.boincstats.com/stats/boinc_t ... %20Kingdom
'Phoenix Rising' and 'OcUK - Overclockers UK' are still above us. I'm sure there's a good reason for my 'thickednuss' - but the only thing I can think of is we're using some other stats which give us an edge.
Or should I just keep quiet?
I'll get me coat....

Mike,
Each team can have either a National identity (in which case they get counted in the Country stats) or they can themselves "International" in which case their team totals are NOT part of the Country stats.
And sometimes, the stats sites get mixed up as to who is a National team and who is an International team...!
In this case, the team you've mentioned is an International team and hence are not really counted as part of the UK stats.
Secondly the XML stats are usually a day or so behind anyways, whereas our own internal stats are at max one hour out of date.
Check here for the catching page on the Team website:

Would just like to point out the following:UBT - Halifax--lad wrote:Well were now number 2
:wav:
On 30th April 2006 we were 6,099,941.08 credits BEHIND "Team CF".
Over the next two months, until 1st July 2006, we caught up - and then passed - "Team CF". That's a massive 6.1 million credits in just 2 months....!
Some serious crunching been going on (as well as some good CPDN crunchers joining our "cause").
Long may it continue....!
regards,
Tim
