Stat Hell !!!

Post by Naon »

Hi, can anybody shed ant light on my BOINC account,

1st is a month ago i Bam took 14k off my credit in one day

enquired with staff and they said that is was a multible host issue with my account

so i clicked on reset CPID number and waited a few weeks now and my computer has uploaded +40 hours of results and i have yet to be granted credit on my stats..

Can someone please have a look at my account and confirm what i have done and know which way i could go from here..

Just had a quick look and it seems you have 3 CPIDs

http://boincstats.com/search/all_projec ... 79de19412c

http://boincstats.com/search/all_projec ... 22f686f7e5

http://boincstats.com/search/all_projec ... d349f7921a

The 2nd one shows a 24k negative for the month which maybe where the problem is. This usually happens when a CPID is changed. However, there is no similar positive credit on either of the other 2 CPIDs which is weird.

First thing to do is get them CPIDs sorted.

You'll need to do 1 work unit for every project you do. Yes, it's a pain as some are longer than others, but it's the only way to get your CPIDs aligned again.

It'll take a few days, so report back in a few as to how things are going and we'll have another look.

For my stats I've forced 2 of your CPIDs (d00d935030f6be1458e3f822f686f7e5 and 38f90446f675142ce697c8d349f7921a) into this one e8a0e61a1dcebac83add7179de19412c

So you'll at least appear "combined" on my pages.

Like Mikee says, it can take a while to sort itself out

I stopped using BAM ages ago I prefer to control things myself and I also had quite a few problems with BAM.
My advise is do as Mikee suggests and stop using BAM "sorry BAM fans"

Hi,

Sorry to hear you've had issues.

Can I assume that you are using the exact same email address on each project?

If not, then change those projects where is it different, so that every email addy is the same across all projects. This will help to align the CPID's.

Secondly, my past experience with BAM has not been good and as you provide BAM with your account info and password, so a screw-up on BAM (as happened to me 2 weeks ago) can mess your credit stats up royally....

So, if you can live without BAM, I'd do without it.

regards

Tim

PS BAM fans - sorry to "diss" BAM, but from my standpoint, I've only ever had issues...that might not be your experience and I'm glad you've been lucky. But I've only had problems with it.

When I have had my CPID split a few times the best way to fix it (for me) is this.

Set all your projects to no new work (on all pootas if you have more than 1)
When they have finished detach from project(s) (on all computers)
Exit boinc completely.
Start Boinc up again and join projects that have your correct CPID 1st.
Add in the ones with the wrong CPID.
I done this on all computers, however I believe doing it on just 1 works fine too, just as long as the other ones are not working on the projects with the wrong CPID.
All computers need to have a correct + wrong CPID project on them, if you want to keep doing the project with the wrong CPID.

Let em work away, your CPID might jump around abit for a day or so (between the correct and the wrong one(s)).
And after a day or 2 your CPID should be all lined up :)
Just look at your account page on the projects website, you can see your CPID there, if all the same, all is sorted :)

Thanks for the infomation. I have reported wu and still no credit... I have changed my email with BAM account because i forgot the password.. hee hhe

BAM was going to change my email addy's on all of the projects, as it says it will do this. (exept WCG)

That never happened and got rid of my stat histroy. a few days later i was granted most of my credit back..

I like to have Bam for the stat histroy

I am only using 1 comp (p4 is the host name). I tried to detach the old host's on my account, but there was no option i could find.

You can't 'detach' a host as such but you can merge.

You'll get a 'new' PC listed if you detach and reattach, so even if you have 1 pc, but have detached/reattached several times you'll get a new pc listed for each time. (NO - you can't have a new REAL PC before anyone asks!!)

Go to 'computers on this account'. Most projects (a few don't) have a link at the bottom of the list called 'merge computers by name'. The project will then try to merge all the PC's to the newest listed PC. May not work if you've upgraded the PC.

Go to your BOINCstats main account. Then click "edit account".
Then click the "renew CPID" button.

This should align all your CPIDs to your original CPID, though it may take a while to work through the system.

Rick.
