Ever wanted to know what do do with all the bits of junk you have lying around, knew they were worth something to someone but couldn't be bothered...
a - Advertising them
b - taking to tip
c - finding a convienient hedgerow
d - in general
If you just want to get shut of them and don't want any hassle (they come to you - no packing - not bothered if the instructions are with them...)
Then someone, somewhere will come and take them off your hands - provided you don't want anything for them ( and they're yours to start with).
Unfortunately, Wives, husbands and kids are specifically not allowed!
Alternately, there might be someone near you who is giving away something YOU want.
Just need a Yahoo account and register on the site. There's bound to be a Freecycle group near you.
I just gave away a free double bed and some speakers.

Good innit!
My local Freecycle group has only been going a couple of months but it's doing fabulously with over 300 members. The next nearest has over two thousand members!
I recently gave a load of plantpots which had been standing in my garden for over a year and received some sterillising tablets - great for cleaning the Vermin's water bottles.
Hopefully I'm collecting some blue glass in a few days, I'm just waiting for an address.
