Hi all,

I've been using Firefox for a while now, but since (about) v2.0.0.8 I've had issues logging onto this forum or even clicking on "view posts since last visit" and getting logged out...!

Anyone else had any problems logging on??

If so, which browser are you using?

I've created a quick and dirty poll for you to cast your vote - should be self-explanatory !!

regards,

Tim

At home I use FF (2.0.0.8 ) in linux (FC7) and have no problems at all with the forum.
At work, I use FF (2.0.0.9) in winXP Pro, again with no problems.

All on XP ....
Running firefox 2.0.010 with add block plus and error console with no problems.
Gave up on IE ages ago (go into chat rooms on orange sometimes and its slow and logs you out when you press backspace )

The only thing i noticed with ff on wifes computer is ....
Had it set to open new window for different sites ,Orange home page was using 88% of the cpu . Everything including boinc slowed down to a standstill . Changed setting
Tools/options/Tabs/  New windows should be opened in : In a new tab .
Runs much better.

No issues using Opera (a very quick browser, I find FF and IE to be painfully slow.  Just very impatient :-) ).

I had a long-standing issue with one phpBB in IE which turned out to be due to a corrupt cookie, try manually deleting the cookie if you have issues.

Hi Mikee,

The "unread posts" issue being marked as read, is exactly the problem I've got now...'cept I use FF v2.0.0.11 !!

Hmmm...makes me wonder...?

Same here! :D

I've had problems with IE5 at work, that was the 'unread posts' issue as well. But on trying IE7 at home, I didn't encounter the problem at all. I also have the same problem with a Time Team forum when I log on at work (IE5 at work, no FF)

I've just realised that both forums are 'phpBB'

No problems on IE.
Have a problem using FF 2.0.0.11, UBT forum has subtle differences, and cannot post, as there is no "submit" box showing.

Rick.

Using MSN browser, slow, does not clear 'new post' tags after they are  read, at log on fails to offer name etc on right click on first attempt.

You should be able to check the little box and choose to remain logged in (i think on the main login page).

I find that sometimes (not always) clearing everything temporary from FF usually does the trick. Tools > Clear Private Data > and select all of them.

Worth a try.
