Q6600

Having problems installing that new stick of memory? Found some great software or having issues with something? Or maybe want to chat about your PlayStation, X-Box, Nintendo, Sega, even your old Spectrum 48k....! Or maybe something you want to sell or acquire (computing related of course!). Let us know here...

WOW do these things fly, finished puting all of the parts together in just 2 hours, I'm starting to get the hang of this
Got mine running @ 3.25 ghz/ core.
It's a wonderful thing
Want another one now

Hi Terry,

Another Q6600 user becomes dis-enchanted with every PC they ever saw before !!!

And then has their "flabber" totally "gasted" by the crunching power of a Quad !!!!

Guess now the one-up-man-ship is going to be:

Who can overclock their Q6600 the most.....(without it being totally fried!).

regards and well done

Sounds good, Timby!

Just one question, why XP Pro and not Vista Ultimate?

Ah good question Mr Melter, primarily because Sage Payrole is not compatible with Vista, and that was my excuse why I needed a new PC
On a more serious note, I run Vista Ultimate on an AMD machine and the scanner I have won't work with Vista so it was reasonable to get the next PC and put XP on it, at least I can use the scanner now!

Another good reason not to upgrade to Vista, or even to have Vista on a new PC if you're wanting to use your existing software/hardware with the new computer!  :D
