UBT now in 48th place (World Ranking position)

Hi all,

Headline says it all - unofficially speaking, we've just moved up another spot into 48th place (in the World).

Congrats to all.....

Keep up the good work, 47th place (currently "AMD users") is about 500,000 credits ahead of us (and our RAC "difference" is around 30,000/day to our favour - so that's gonna take around 16 days to make up !).

Nice one all!

See yesterday was our 2nd highest contribution at nearly 200,000 units

- mostly due to the backlog of seti outputs (155,000).

Now if we could keep that up we could hold off Xtremesystems, but it seems like they'll overtake us next week or so anyway.

Well, they did it yesterday - Xtremesystems, as predicted overtook us.

There was nothing we could have done and it's a long hard slog to regain our position. Just 17 new members needed to crack 500 - so every day it should get easier.

Edit: From the looks of it if our RAC doesn't change the next team to pass us will be SETI@Taiwan

XS have 142 members of whom at least 50% are regularly contributing.

And their top 7 team members contributed yesterday:

70k credits per day
46k
17k
15k
12k
10k
10k

That's 180,000 credits per day from just 7 crunchers.

By comparison:
We have 483 members of whom of which our top 4 contributed yesterday:

31k
6k
3k
2k

So, XS do have the "edge" on us.....!

As a Team, we're now starting to "mix it" with the bigger teams and so we expected our progress up the World rankings to slow down once we got into the Top 50.

But we must be mindful of other teams closing in on us.

And with summer holidays there's even more need for all our team and forum members to promote the Team and generate more interest. This is why, if we can become the UK's No. 1 SETI Team, we will at least have some more "gravitas" and can generate increased membership (we hope !).
