Optimized Boinc Clients

Anything "BOINC" specific can be commented on here...such as Project news and announcements etc. Also: any problems with BOINC or maybe you have found something interesting, tell us about it. Chat about the various 3rd party client applications used for some of the projects such as optimised clients.

To be honest you don't really need a optimised BOINC client all they can do is alter the benchmarks, alot of work has been going into new versions of BOINC that sort our benchmark problems plus alot of projects are starting to go down the fixed credit route or my other means to get vredit awarded

Thought it might be worth a few extra credits :wink:

I expected boinc 5.5? quite a while ago & was going to download 5.7.2, now I see its just been updated to 5.8.1 which I gather is unsuitable.

5.8.1 is pretty much stable and the next release of BOINC is either going to be this one of the next minor version up from that

Yes download 5.8.2 its the latest test client all should work fine with it

Thats much better to look at, especially like the easy view with easy access to other projects.

Its also skinable which is cool will put some instructions up at some point soon or maybe type them up now

Been using Crunch3r's 32bit 5.8.11 for a few weeks now without any trouble, fingers crossed  :?
