Rosetta and CV19
Hi
Good to see that Rosetta@home stats have jumped from around 26 million/day to 144 million/day!

Re: Rosetta and CV19
Hi Mike
Good spot !!
What with Folding and Rosetta now working on various Covid-19 related tasks, it's good to see that "distributed computing" members are jumping onboard and helping out.
Once SETI@home runs out of tasks (in the next few days) I'll swap over to Rosetta and hopefully make a crunching contribution to their efforts.
regards
Tim

Re: Rosetta and CV19
There is a Covid-19 Rosetta BOINC challenge starting next week.

UBT is "automatically" included on *all* BOINCstats challenges...so if anyone wants to get involved om this, your contribution will go towards the UBT efforts on this Challenge - there's no need to register individually.

Re: Rosetta and CV19
I shall be joining it once the Formula Boinc Sprint is over (or at the start if I'm not doing the sprint)

Hi
Covid-19 tasks are now coming through. Not sure how sporadic they're going to be as I've only managed to get 2 running even after multiple requests for more.

can anyone tell me why my rosetta WU are taking between 3000 and 4000 seconds while everyone elses is taking x10 times as long.

Hiya
I guess it might just be that your CPUs are much better,in terms of speed and computing capabilities (ie sse2, sse3, avx, etc) than those you are comparing to ?
So all things being equal, your hosts should see sub-1000 second "run-times" for the Mini tasks...

My pretty old 2.6GHz Xeons are taking upwards of 25,000 seconds for the "Rosetta v4.12 windows_x86_64" tasks, but they take a comparable time (to yours) on the "Rosetta Mini v3.78 windows_intelx86" tasks.GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz [Family 6 Model 158 Stepping 10] (12 processors)
GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-7920X CPU @ 2.90GHz [Family 6 Model 85 Stepping 4] (24 processors)
GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-8350K CPU @ 4.00GHz [Family 6 Model 158 Stepping 11] (4 processors)

Mike
On the 31st March, Rosetta tasks earned "264,765,612 credits"...that must be a record for them ?
The 10 preceeding days (30th back to 21st) were (in reverse date order):
171,225,420
167,259,788
153,219,573
144,094,933
126,487,617
121,749,820
123,529,570
111,109,318
75,149,003
95,095,204
So the 31st figure maybe wasn't due to a lack of tasks on the previous days?

Hi
All I got were 5 resends. Credits weird though. All took 7-8 hours, 2 got 316 and 248 credits, the other 3 @ 14, 16 and 16. Ah well - not here for the credits I suppose?

Mike,
Think yourself lucky. Most of mine scored 2pts for nearly 2 hours of CPU time.
Chris.
