Welcome to the forum...
And please disregard the rest of the rabble in here talking about choccy Hobnobs...as this is clearly a ruse by certain individuals to improve our websites ranking on Google...
I'm still p*$$ed off that Google called v3.0 of Android "Honeycomb" - what on earth has a former ITN newscaster got to do with mobile phones...? It should clearly have been called Hobnob !!
regards

No worries, in what way are you looking to improve Google rankings, as I own an SEO company I might be able to helpUBT - Timbo wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 6:30 pmWelcome to the forum...

Ah - it was merely a quip, rather than an actual expectation that we need any SE optimisation - and to be honest, I don't feel the need to create/update info on our domain name, simply because this forum works far better...
As you may know, most websites are very much "one sided", (in terms of what is put on them) unless they incorporate some form of blog, or in our case, a forum...and over the years that this forum has been going (which is a lot), so there's enough keywords that have been uttered, that means we're fairly well covered.
Plus the forum URL is plastered over so many BOINC websites which gives us more "gravitas" to our standing/rankings on Google or any other search engine (and assuming they don't keep changing the algorithms they use !!)
But thanks for the offer
regards

Re: Another WCG badge!
Forums used to be one of the best things to help with Google rankings, you could always see Googlebot sitting under current users permanently on busy forums, as you say mainly because of the recurrent use of keywords and the amount of traffic. The age of a domain gives quite a bit of authority. Content is still king when it comes to rankings and as you mentioned blogs are one of the best ways to achieve this.
